has anyone else seen this balling/creepola site for justin timberlake’s tequila?  first of all, yes, justin timberlake has a tequila, for those of you who didn’t know.  this is apparently what he does with his time these days other than golf and be in sony commercials.  the site is obviously balling out of control, but what’s up with this pretty yet extremely creepy chick on the homepage?  anyone?

so for your tune today i planned to post this crazy/disturbing/dope video by die antwoord, who are all the rage in my LES social circle.  unfortunately, i was in AC for hardfest, but all the kids i know who went said they slayed everyone on every level, and this got me extremely interested.  my research tells me that they hail from cape town, south africa, and only just recently made their US debut at coachella.  i dig that “die antwoord” means “the answer” in afrikaans.  the group is made up of some crazy guy named ninja, an even crazier chick named yo-landi vi$$er, and their dj hi-tek.  and i mean crazy in the best way possible.  check out “enter the ninja” here:

i know, wtf, right? you can’t even be mad at homie’s outfit tho. anyway, watching this video led me to further procrastination investigation on the internets.  you’ll notice there’s a guy in the video who looks a little bit “different” than the rest.  you probably thought something along the lines of  ”is this a special effects situation orrrr what’s going on here?” just like i did.  well, i learned that this dude is infamous south african dj/musician/painter leon botha who suffers from a disease called progeria.  he is actually one of the oldest living survivors of the condition which causes an extreme early onset of the effects of aging.  this disease has got kids looking like benjamin button, but it’s very devastating because those born with it typically do not live longer than 13 years of age.  there is no known cure, and sadly, most affected die from causes such as heart attack and stroke.  according to wikipedia it occurs in about 1 of every 8 million live births.  it pains me to think about how much money, time, and research go into finding cures for STD’s that affect irresponsible people when there are innocent, undeserving people being born with conditions like progeria, who still have no hope of a cure with lesser efforts being made to find one.  apparently, progeria is not genetically inherited from healthy parents (most sufferers don’t live long enough to procreate), but there are 2 recorded cases of a healthy parent passing on the mutant gene to not one, but several children.  one of these cases was of special interest to me because the family lives in india and has 5 affected children.  to add to the insanity here, the parents, both of whom are carriers of this recessive gene, are first cousins and have 2 other perfectly healthy children.  in 2005 a documentary was made chronicling their family called the 80 year old children.  three of them are pictured below.  poor things.   check out the movie if you feel so inclined, and if you really want to help, you can donate to the progeria research foundation HERE. i don’t mean to depress you, but i gotta drop some knowledge on you people from time to time.  can’t always blog about nonsense…

as far as things circulating the internets- if you attend a lot of ‘industry events’ in nyc, you’ve probably seen this daring duo at some point or another.  pre-ronald mcdonald status hair, you had to do a double-take for rihanna every time you saw them- they’re coco & breezy.  they are quite the pair of fashion designing entrepreneurial twins.  pictured below are the girls (photo credit xex magazine) and a shot of some shades i really dig from their website.  obv, they’re crazy next level, and i also really dig how they call their latest stuff the ‘2020 collection’.  that’s actually some real talk because it will probably take until then for the rest of less fashionably inclined world to catch on to what they do.

so i know i’ve been posting a lot of electro(ish) stuff lately, as well as a bit of hip hop.  it’s been a minute since i posted a pop song, but i have the perfect one for today.  this song is so mainstream and commercial, it would make me sick if all marketing strategies/products intended for teenage girls didn’t work like a charm on me.  sadly, i think it’s adorable.  plus, you can’t really help but love katy perry.  this song is sure to be overplayed to the point of exhaustion in the matter of a month- but for now let’s just let katy bask in the glory of truly killing the pop game.  miley who?  check out “teenage dream” below. you know what else is dope?  throwing stars.  yeah, as in like the traditional concealed japanese weapon also known as shuriken or ninja stars.  i recently came to the realization that these are the most gangster things you could ever possibly own, and matter of fact if you don’t have any- you ain’t no thug!  the dopest ones of all are probably these batman ones.

also discovered there’s a website (as you can see lol) called heavenlyswords.com.  which is obviously awesome.  it just keeps getting better….

as far as tunes go…if you’re not into hyper crush by now, well…you’re late.  so late, in fact, that i can’t even issue you a late pass.  (they signed with universal in ‘08!)  all i can really do is post “ayo”, hope you’ll listen, and just get into it.  these guys sample duck hunt in their first album.  DUCK HUNT, people, as in the nintendo game.  that’s some next level ish.  you’re not on that.  but this song i really dig.  you’re welcome, electroheads.

i am totally swamped right now and have no time to look up cool things on the internets, but luckily i did find a picture of some fun shoes that i would totally rock if they were a better car than an agila.
